Quick Save with Back Tap
Save links to Later instantly by tapping the back of your iPhone — no need to open any app.
How It Works
- Copy any link in any app (Safari, Twitter, WeChat, etc.)
- Tap the back of your iPhone (double or triple tap)
- The link is automatically saved to Later in the background ✨
Setup Guide
Step 1: Create a Shortcut
- Open the Shortcuts app on your iPhone.
- Tap the + button in the top-right corner to create a new shortcut.
- Tap Add Action, search for "Clipboard", and select "Get Clipboard".
- Tap + again below that action, search for "Later", and select "Save Link to Later".
- Make sure the Input parameter of the "Save Link" action is set to "Clipboard".
- Tap the name at the top and rename it to something like "Save to Later".
- Tap Done to save.
Your shortcut should look like this
Get Clipboard → Save [Clipboard] to Later
Step 2: Bind to Back Tap
- Open iPhone Settings → Accessibility → Touch → Back Tap.
- Choose Double Tap or Triple Tap.
- Scroll to the Shortcuts section at the bottom, and select the shortcut you just created (e.g., "Save to Later").
Compatibility
Back Tap is available on iPhone 8 and later, running iOS 14 or above.
Step 3: Start Using
That's it! Now whenever you see an interesting link:
- Copy the link (long press → Copy, or tap the Share button → Copy Link)
- Tap the back of your iPhone twice (or three times)
- You'll feel a subtle haptic feedback — the link has been saved to Later!
Later will automatically fetch the page title, preview image, and generate an AI summary in the background.
Note
Make sure you've copied a valid URL to the clipboard before tapping. If the clipboard doesn't contain a URL, the shortcut will show an error message.
